Johnson's Of Honda
We had an enthusiastic guy ring from Johnsons of Honda about doing their Christmas staff day with Tanks lot, Yee ha. This means turkey and pud with brandy butter for me and my chaps. It took about a minute to know scott and his crew were up for fun. He chose the normal selection of tanks and stuff but he also opted for a spot of radio control boat shooting on the lake with a clay pigeon option if it was frozen over, which is a real possibility in mid December.
We got lucky and what ice had been about seemed to have gone by their special Sunday. They soon got the hang of the new air rifles and the scene resembled Zulu Dawn. However with Crazy Camo on the boat controls and the amazing durability of the boats, not to mention my ingenious gaffer tape repairs, it was a pretty even match.
One particular boat attained such respect from the firing squad as it started to sink, one of Scott’s loyal squad frantically stripped off and leapt in to save it as a trophy. Was this brave? or just mad in December, best you be the judge of that one!
The Supacats’ stormed around just great in the slop and deep water, and managed to give me a Jedwood hairstyle, not a good look. One 432 threw a track in the heavy mud, bollocks! Worst bit was, it was being driven by an instructor - ex Tank Regiment - say no more!
Lunch was a welcome sight – Turkey, cranberry sauce and all the trimmings, lots of clean plates, especially mine.
Not surprisingly, enthusiastic Scott came in joint winner for the car crush, but graciously gave it to the December Dipper who had just about got some feeling back in his extremities. Great crush, and many thanks to the young lady I lent my camera to for capturing the car crush picture. Take a look, spot on miss Bailey!
