1942 Ford Scripted bodied jeep. Released from the British Army in 1954 with the registration "HPO 710", valued at £1,300, fully transferable with another age related plate allocated.

This vehicle has undergone major modifications, proberly carried out by the military before it's release. for evaluation purposes. The body has been raised to allow clearance for extra prop shafts to power a large winch, similar to a dodge command car and a power take-off on the rear of the vehicle. The gearbox has an extra transfer box for this purpose. The engine is bigger than normal and is attached to a 4 speed gearbox, with synchromesh on all 4 gears. The vehicle has high and low range, 2 and 4 wheel drive. The wheels are of the split rim type of military spec. The whole chassis has been strengthened so maximum use can be made of the winch.

The vehicle has a new MOT and TAX (Exempt historic vehicle). Starts and drives well, charges, and has all new canvas throughout. Although not fitted with seat belts regularly does the school run. It may never win first prize concourse, but is clean, tidy, reliable and causes arguments with jeep enthusiasts wherever I take it. Would part exchange it against Abbot, MK2 432 or something similar.
